AI standup collector: daily digest

Daily standup: collect team updates in 5 minutes, not 30-minute call

Agent sends async standup form (yesterday's work, today's plans, blockers) to Slack daily, collects responses, creates digest for leaders, flags risks and dependencies, syncs with Linear/Jira. $19/mo.

Sound familiar?

What's eating your time

Daily standup calls = 30+ minutes × 10–20 people → wasted time syncing 5 minutes of info

Async standups sent but no one reads; info scattered, zero visibility

Leaders can't see who's stuck on what → blockers not resolved fast

Meetings about meetings: standup at 9:30, then sub-teams have own standups, then syncs with other departments

Capabilities

What your AI agent can do

Async standup collection

Agent sends Slack message daily at 9:00: 'Share your standup.' Questions: what you completed yesterday, plans today, any blockers, % progress on current task. Team answers async, no Zoom call.

Auto-create digest

Agent collects responses → creates digest for leaders: 'Wins: Ivan completed auth', 'Blockers: Maria stuck on payment bug', 'Plans: Peter moving to feature X'. Digest sent to #standup or email.

Track dependencies and risks

Agent analyzes: if Ivan waiting on Peter → flags dependency. If something red (stuck, deadline risk) → highlights for manager. Report: '3 blockers, 2 dependencies, 1 deadline at-risk'.

Sync with Linear/Jira

When someone says 'Completed task-123' → agent updates Linear/Jira status → task moves to Done. Plans for today → creates or updates tasks with timeline.

Trend tracking and health metrics

Weekly: agent tracks trends → 'Average 2 blockers/day', '95% progress on plan', 'Dependency issues growing.' Warns: 'Current trend won't hit deadline.' Helps leaders see green/red flags early.

How it works

Get started in a few steps

1

Set up standup template

You configure: which questions (yesterday/today/blockers), what time to send (9:00 UTC, each person's local, or fixed), who receives digest (managers, #engineering-standup channel).

2

Agent sends form daily

Daily at set time → Slack message with form: 'What did you complete? Plans for today? Any blockers?' Team responds in thread or modal (optional).

3

Collect and create digest

Agent collects responses (usually by 10:00), groups by team/project, creates digest: wins, blockers, plans, dependencies. Sends to #standup or email.

4

Sync with task tracker

From standups: 'Completed task-123' → marks Done in Linear/Jira. 'Planning task-456' → updates priority/assignee. Single source of truth for task status.

5

Weekly trend report

Every Friday → agent sends report: top achievements, top blockers, trend (improving/declining), metrics (% on-track, blockers/day, dependencies). Manager sees team health, can act.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes. If team spans timezones (RU + US) → sends form at 9:00 each person's local time. Or fixed time if everyone in one timezone.
